George Giokas launched StaffWriters Plus, Inc. in 1994 after a 20-year career as a professional journalist for some of the largest papers in the country.

Based in Hauppauge, StaffWriters Plus specializes in providing custom editorial and other content and in placing writers, editors, marketing and public relations professionals, researchers and administrative aides in both temporary and permanent positions.

Giokas also serves as chairman of ScoutNews, LLC, the parent company of HealthDay, a consumer health news service whose daily health news coverage is distributed across major newspapers and Web sites around the country and in key cities around the world.

In addition to his businesses, Giokas is also a screenwriter and a recent graduate of UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. He is currently working on his seventh screenplay.
